News From Mt. Abram

Mt. Abram has just announced that their main lift is no longer in use for the rest of the season, and repairs will begin soon for next season. This however could be good news for some, as lift ticket prices will be as low as $20 for the T bar and the West-side lift. Furthermore, the season may be extended by a couple weeks. Remember, we still have lift tickets discounts such as a Free Child Ticket w/ Purchase of Weekend Adult Ticket for Mt. Abram. Sign up for your premium membership now for only $9.95, and it will be good all through next season as well. Below are more details and comments by General Manager Dave Scanlan about the recent updates at Mt. Abram ;

"Sunday afternoon we detected a series of symptoms that has lead us to the determination that the main bearing on the return Bullwheel at the bottom of the Wayback Chair is failing and is no longer safe for operation.
We have already started scheduling the repairs to begin as soon as possible however it is unlikely that this will be fixed by the end of the season. The good news is after the overhaul to the drive train of the chair she will be ready to run smoothly for the next 20 years. As a result, we will be operating the Maine T Bar with reduced lift tickets prices.
Beginning tomorrow through April 5th, an all day weekend lift ticket will be just $30, for both the T Bar and Westside.

At this point, we are considering an extend season by adding two additional weekends, opening the T Bar only with burgers, hot dogs and cold beers in the sun for the weekend ofApril 12-13 as well as possibly the 19th-20th, weather conditions permitting. We will make an announcement on Thursday morning April 10th and April 17th for the following weekend. Lift tickets will be just $20."
