Red River Ski Area offers 2 for 1 lift tickets to start 2012.13

Red River Ski Area in New Mexico will now offer 2 for 1 lift tickets to start 2012.13 for Mountain Sports Club premium members. This popular New Mexico destination opened for the season this past week just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend. Red River Ski Area will operate on Fridays through Sundays through December 14th. Mountain Sports Club members will enjoy 2 for 1 discounted lift tickets from opening day until Christmas Day. After the Christmas holidays members will save $10 daily on adult full day tickets the balance of the year.

Snow, resort openings and winter in October

With new snow pounding the western US we are very pleased to see more and more resort openings and great pictures of snow and skiing. Yesterday, I had the great fortune to ski Copper Mountain in Colorado with the PSIA demo team. The surface conditions were excellent and especially for October! Great carving and cruising snow to get the legs started for the coming winter season. Today first day soreness from using muscles not used in awhile, tomorrow a hot yoga class to stretch it out as we prepare for a big snowy winter.

Just this week Loveland opened on Tuesday here in Colorado.
Now another storm has brought more snow. Reports of feet of snow in Tahoe. Squaw is opening! Kirkwood is posting back country powder shots. The word is Jackson Hole received 10 inches of snow and most western resorts are reporting new snow in the last 2 days with more on the way.

Loveland Ski Area To Open for 2012.13 ski and snowboard season

Loveland Ski Area in Colorado will open for 2012.13 ski and snowboard season tomorrow Tuesday October 23, 2012. Loveland joins Arapahoe Basin who opened last week as the second Colorado ski are to open for the new ski and snowboard season. The resorts have relied upon good snow making conditions to get open and will get some help from Mother Nature later this week as a storm is scheduled to bring new snow to the mountains of Colorado and the Rockies.
